mari's birthday take II: sweets.

Mari's first birthday party was a whole lot of sweet, mostly due to our family and friends. To watch your daughter be loved by so many felt a little reminiscent of our wedding day. On a smaller scale, her party had a lot of similarities to our big day; meticulous planning; high emotion; lots of details; love from family and friends, near and far; pure joy; toes in the sand; and the most beautiful view you ever did see!

And, like the sweets table at our wedding, Mari had one of her very own, too. It was filled with all things red and pink:

+ my mom's homemade heart-shaped sugar cookies
+ rice krispie treats
+ jelly bellies, in small boxed favorite flavors
+ pink and white lollipops
+ for the birthday girl: banana cake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting (details and recipe to come)
Mari's crafy birthday girl hat was a DIY number. If there's interest in hearing about it, I'll post details. Number '1' from Target.
Candy [randomly] from Jo-Ann.
Treat bags: leftovers from our wedding (and yet there are still hundreds to spare!), adorned with heart stickers from Shop Sweet Lulu.
Just like her mom: can't get enough of that cream cheese frosting. Attagirl.

This is such a sweet party, and what a little cutie. I've always been a big fan of a party on the beach!
